Enter: Gam-e-quality
Gam-e-quality is an event series that consists of a speaker event organized in April 2022, and two hackathon weekends in June 2022. Hackathons are held live in Helsinki, in the spaces of Maria 01.
The goal of Gam-e-quality is to increase awareness about challenges in the game industry and gaming communities, as well as to create concrete solutions to them. Gam-e-quality also aspires to create a positive change within gaming communities and strengthen the sense of inclusivity.
Anyone can apply to this hackathon; individuals, friend groups or teams. The most important is that you are interested in gaming and equality, and that you want to be a part of positive change in the gaming world. We believe that anyone – whether you are an esports professional, a couch gamer or something in between – can be a part of a positive change in the gaming world. You don’t need to have a concrete idea in mind beforehand – a desire to make a difference is more than enough.

Attend events
The Gam-e-quality hackathon consists of two sets of Friday and Saturday: 10-11 + 17-18 June 2022.
During the first weekend teams will get to know each other and start working on their ideas about a solution for equality challenges in gaming. During the second weekend the teams will finish working on their idea and on Saturday the 18th every team will give a presentation to the other teams as well as to the audience and the judges. During the hackathon, teams will hear inspiring keynote speeches and get guidance from mentors, that consists of people working and influencing in the game and tech industry.
By filling out the application form, you can apply as an individual – and we will gather you a team – or together with a pre-arranged team. If you wish to apply with a team, tell us the name of your teammates in the application form!
